Paintings

Elise’s recent paintings explore autobiographical narratives through theatrical visual tropes referencing pop-culture, horror, and comedy. Her stark imagery and use of traditionally-domestic materials draw on concepts of gender, sexuality, and socio-economic identity tied to contemporary and historical power structures embedded in the American South, particularly those that exist within domestic environments.
